According to The New Yorker Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami and will be free to move to work on other projects with other companies in December.
Kojima left Kojima Productions on Friday, October 9th. There of course was a departure ceremony with about 100 guests in attendance, Konami president Hideki Hayakawa and CEO Sadaaki Kaneyoshi were not present.
According to Konami “Currently, Kojima is a listed as a company employee [at Konami].”“Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.”
In regards to the farewell party, Konami simply said “We’re not sure what kind of thing this was.”
