Keep Your Most Important 2016 Video Game Releases in Mind with These Desktop Wallpapers (Part 1)
It is 2016 and it’s set to be one of the biggest years for gaming yet, with a few titles that have been in development for as much as 8 years may be released this year. It’s important to keep in mind that many of these games could face delays despite them having confirmed dates. Others on this gallery series may not have confirmed dates but were ones still worth keeping an eye out for in 2016.
I did my best to find the highest resolution and most beautiful screenshots, concept art, and some times fan art of major up coming games. To prevent this post from becoming too large, welcome to part 1 of a multi-part series. Also keep in mind while making this list I came across multiple games I was not aware of so some game summaries may be lacking in up to date info.
Adrift (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
This game came out with a interesting trailer and could very easily (and who knows maybe unfairly) be described as “Gravity The Game”. Though the design is certainly different, how often do you see greenery and plant life while floating through space? The beautiful screens below should help keep you guessing while you wait for it’s current release date at the end of march.

Attack on Titain (Ps4, PS3, PSVita)
A game I’m personally excited for and plan to get at launch on the Vita (depending on possible feature differences). The games current release date is set for February this year in japan, there is no western release date as of writing.
Thanks to an English teaser we can assume a western release isn’t too far behind, and the images below will help keep the fight for humanity in your thoughts and titans in your dreams.

Bravely Second: End Layer (3DS)
THE reason I intend to get a 3DS when I can is this game series, despite the disappointing censoring of it’s chibi styled characters. I’m drawn to anything using Akihiko Yoshida’s style and good lord is this game no exception censored or not!
Let me calm down before I go on a rant, look for this game at the end of April this year.

Dark Souls 3 (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
While I’m not a proper fan of these games due to only completing Demon Souls and only starting Dark Souls, I do love what these games do in terms of it’s design. There’s a number of Nice 4K resolution images released from what I assume to be the PC version. Enjoy.
The game is expected to be released mid-April.

Firewatch (PC, Mac, Linux, and PS4)
This is a game I admittedly know little to nothing about beyond the screenshots below and this lovely Sketchfab model posted over a year ago by a fan. What do you do in the game? What’s it about? I dunno, I saw a trailer, that had a very nice natural presentation and some good voice acting. Honestly, I’m interested in the game for it’s quality and atmosphere alone. But not to be completely useless here’s a quote from someone that knows more…
In Firewatch you play as a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio and is your only contact with the world you’ve left behind.
But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the world, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making interpersonal choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have. – Firewatch Official Site
Expect the game early February, and for now get a nice moody wallpaper below.

So that’s it for part one! While I’ve taken feedback for a number of games already and already have a number of games lined up for this series. If there’s any obscure titles you’d like me to find nice wallpapers for let me know in the comments below.

Seems the Fire Watch images are the most popular for this post, second favorite is Adrift.
